Madhya Pradesh's Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has announced a significant increase in financial assistance for women under the Ladli Behna scheme. As Raksha Bandhan approaches, approximately 1.27 crore beneficiaries will receive a Rakhi gift of ₹250, with monthly support set to rise from ₹1,250 to ₹1,500 starting in October. This initiative aims to strengthen the bond of love celebrated during the festival while ensuring ongoing financial support for women in the state. The government is committed to further increasing this assistance to ₹3,000 in the future, demonstrating a strong focus on women's empowerment.

Support for Women Under Ladli Behna Scheme

On Saturday, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav of Madhya Pradesh announced that approximately 1.27 crore women benefiting from the Ladli Behna scheme will receive a Rakhi gift of ₹250. Starting in October, their monthly assistance will be raised to ₹1,500.


Currently, eligible women under this initiative receive ₹1,250 each month. Yadav stated, "Raksha Bandhan symbolizes the unbreakable bond of love between siblings... Rakhi falls on August 9, and it is only fitting for brothers to gift their sisters. Our government will ensure that every Ladli Behna receives ₹250 as a token of affection before this date."


He made these remarks during a state-level event held in Nalwa village, Ujjain district, where financial assistance was distributed to beneficiaries of various schemes. The Chief Minister expressed the government's commitment to gradually increase the monthly support under the Ladli Behna scheme to ₹3,000.


According to an official statement, Yadav mentioned, "The monthly assistance will be increased from ₹1,250 to ₹1,500 by Bhai Dooj (October 23), following Diwali."
