Next Steps for the UCC Bill

The aim of the proposed legislation is to establish a uniform legal framework for civil matters, replacing the existing personal laws that vary among different communities.

Objectives of the UCC Bill

The objective of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) bill is to create uniform civil laws for all citizens, regardless of their religion, concerning marriage, divorce, inheritance, adoption, and succession. Instead of having different personal laws for various religious communities, this proposed legislation seeks to implement a consistent legal framework. The Madhya Pradesh government asserts that this bill is based on the principle of equality and aims to ensure equal rights and legal standards for all citizens. After being presented in the assembly, the bill will undergo debate and complete the legislative process before becoming law.
