Luka Modric, the iconic Croatian footballer, will extend his international career beyond the FIFA World Cup. He has confirmed his availability for the upcoming UEFA Nations League matches against Czechia, Spain, and England, as announced by the Croatian Football Federation on Saturday.

The federation shared this news on their official X account, stating, "#Croatia captain @lukamodric10 will be part of the national team for the #NationsLeague matches against Czechia, Spain, and England! Modric has informed head coach Slaven Bilić and HNS president Marijan Kustić of his readiness to continue his remarkable international journey, boasting 202 caps and numerous historic achievements."

Currently representing AC Milan in Serie A, Modric has participated in two matches this season without scoring or assisting. During the recent FIFA World Cup, he led Croatia to a round-of-32 exit, where they were defeated by Portugal, led by Cristiano Ronaldo. Throughout four matches, he created five chances and provided one assist.

The UEFA Nations League for the 2026/27 season is set to commence on September 24. Croatia, who were the runners-up in the 2018 FIFA World Cup, also finished second in the last edition of the Nations League, losing to Spain.
