Price Increase for Commercial LPG Cylinders

New Delhi: The year 2026 has commenced with a significant rise in inflation. Starting January 1, 2026, oil marketing companies (IOC, BPCL, HPCL) have increased the price of a 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder by ₹111. This hike will heavily impact hotels, restaurants, dhabas, and other commercial users, potentially leading to higher food prices.

No Change in Domestic LPG Cylinder Prices

On a positive note, the prices of the 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinders remain unchanged. Since April 2025, the rates for domestic gas have been stable.

New Prices in Major Cities (Effective January 1, 2026)

  • Mumbai: ₹1,642.50 (previously ₹1,531.50)
  • Kolkata: ₹1,795 (previously ₹1,684)
  • Chennai: ₹1,849.50 (previously ₹1,739.50)

Domestic Cylinder Prices Remain Unchanged

  • Delhi: ₹853

Factors Behind the Price Increase

This price adjustment is based on the fluctuations in international crude oil and gas prices, the dollar-rupee exchange rate, and other global factors. While commercial cylinder prices saw an average decrease in 2025, the trend has reversed in the new year.
