Loyola School in Bhubaneswar Hosts Its Inaugural Model United Nations Conference

A New Era of Diplomacy at Loyola School

Bhubaneswar: Loyola School has successfully launched its first Model United Nations (MUN) conference, which commenced on July 12.

This two-day event, wrapping up on July 13, featured simulations of four UN committees: UNGA-DISEC, UNHRC, AIPPM, and IPC. Student delegates engaged in discussions on pressing global and national topics, enhancing their skills in diplomacy, public speaking, research, and negotiation.

The conference attracted over 210 participants from 19 different schools and colleges throughout the city.

The opening ceremony was graced by the presence of chief guest Adyasha Satpathy, CEO of Dharitri, alongside Rector Fr. Augustine Ezhakunnel, Principal Fr. A. Amaladoss, Senior Vice Principal Nandita Pattnaik, LMUN Secretary-General Anwesha Priyadarashini Pradhan, and Deputy Secretary-General Sristhi Roy.

Adyasha Satpathy expressed her enthusiasm, stating, "It’s a pleasure to be here for Loyola's inaugural MUN. Such events cultivate critical thinking among students."

She further noted, "The debates and discussions foster collaboration, shaping future global leaders and responsible citizens. I commend Loyola for this initiative, which will equip students to represent not just their school or state, but their countries and the world at large."

Secretary-General Pradhan highlighted that the event transcended mere debate, focusing on collaboration, empathy, and personal growth, while also helping students develop confidence, critical thinking, and teamwork abilities.

In his closing remarks, the principal emphasized that the conference not only enriched students' profiles but also bolstered their confidence, critical thinking, and public speaking skills.
