Indian Olympic medalist Lovlina Borgohain has clinched another boxing medal for India at the ongoing Asian Games in Japan. She triumphed over South Korea's Seong Suyeon, a bronze medalist from the 2010 Asiad, in the women's 75 kg quarterfinal held in Aichi-Nagoya on Monday. Lovlina won decisively with a unanimous score of 5-0, according to ESPN.

In the initial round, both boxers engaged aggressively, exchanging punches without much defense. Lovlina managed to gain an advantage, with judges scoring the round 10-9 in her favor, resulting in a 5-0 lead. She defeated Uzbekistan's Navbakhor Khamidova, a silver medalist at the World Championships, with a unanimous score of 5-0, as reported by ESPN. After having her 2022 Asian Games bronze medal revoked due to a doping violation, Parveen has made a strong comeback and is now in contention for gold. She won her rounds with scores of 4-1, 5-0, and 5-0, showcasing her dominance over the Uzbek fighter.

Furthermore, Ankush Panghal also guaranteed a medal for India in the men's 80 kg boxing category on Sunday, defeating Tajikistan's Nekruz Salimov in the quarterfinals. Ankush won the match with a unanimous decision of 5-0, demonstrating superior speed and punching skills against his opponent.
