The atmosphere at Paras Public School in Bhawarna was filled with festive joy as the traditional Lohri festival was celebrated with great enthusiasm. The school courtyard buzzed with excitement when School Director Mr. Mahesh Chandra Katoch, Principal Mrs. Neelam Rana, and the entire teaching staff lit a ceremonial bonfire, offering prayers to Agni Dev and expressing hopes for a prosperous year ahead.
Students from Nursery through Class XII participated actively, showcasing their cultural heritage by singing traditional Lohri songs and performing energetic dances, thus keeping the folk traditions alive. Teacher Renu Sharma took the opportunity to share the tale of Dulla Bhatti, emphasizing the historical and cultural importance of the festival.
This celebration, marking the end of winter, conveyed a message of unity and the victory of good over evil. The children were thrilled as they received traditional treats such as peanuts, rewari, and gajak.
In her closing remarks, Principal Mrs. Neelam Rana conveyed her Lohri wishes to everyone, highlighting the importance of festivals as a vital part of our cultural legacy that should be celebrated in harmony and joy.
