Livestreamer 'Chud the Builder' Admits to Shooting Incident Outside Courthouse
Shooting Incident Overview
A controversial livestreamer, known as "Chud the Builder," has confessed to shooting a man during a confrontation outside a courthouse in Clarksville, as reported by local authorities. Montgomery County District Attorney General Robert Nash stated that Dalton Eatherly, 28, discharged his firearm near the courthouse around 1:15 PM local time on Wednesday, according to ClarksvilleNow. The victim was subsequently airlifted to a hospital via LifeFlight, while Eatherly sustained what officials described as a minor graze wound, which may have resulted from accidentally shooting himself during the altercation.
In a livestream that followed the shooting, Eatherly admitted to firing his weapon, asserting that he acted in self-defense. "He hit me, he started wailing on me, even after I had to defend myself by shooting him, he's still wailing on me," Eatherly stated while addressing emergency responders. He further claimed that online provocateurs had incited violence against him, saying, "They're all publicly saying 'if y'all assault this guy, we'll make you rich'. The f--k," and expressed regret, saying, "I wish he had just walked away, man."
'Chud The Builder' Court Appearance
As per court documents accessed by ClarksvilleNow, Eatherly was scheduled to appear in court on the same day regarding a civil case tied to a debt and credit collection issue. The streamer, who identifies as a "free speech patriot," was arrested in Nashville the previous week for allegedly harassing patrons at a high-end steakhouse. Reports indicate that he shouted racial slurs within the establishment and refused to settle a bill of approximately $400 after his meal.
Eatherly is recognized for his confrontational livestreams on PumpFun, a cryptocurrency-centric platform, where he records interactions with strangers in public settings. His videos have included instances of racist remarks aimed at Black individuals, featuring monkey sounds and slurs. He has also previously threatened to use bear spray against those he targeted during his streams. Just hours after being released on bond following his Nashville arrest, Eatherly posted another livestream where he mocked a driver using racist language and sounds. He faces charges related to the Nashville incident, including theft of services, disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest.
