Leopard Discovered Deceased in Madhya Pradesh's Kanha Reserve

A female leopard was discovered dead on Thursday in the Kanha Tiger Reserve located in Mandla district, according to an official report. The initial assessment suggests that the leopard may have fallen victim to a tiger attack, as all of its body parts were found intact.


Ravindra Mani Tripathi, the regional director of the Kanha Tiger Reserve, stated that the deceased leopard was first spotted by forest personnel in the Digdola beat of the Sajanal area within the Kisli forest range.


He further noted that tiger paw prints and drag marks were found in the vicinity, indicating that the leopard's death could be the result of a wildlife conflict. Tripathi mentioned that the site has been secured, and a canine unit is assisting in the surrounding area search.


Following the established protocol, the leopard was cremated in the presence of relevant officials. The officer confirmed that all body parts of the deceased leopard were intact, and there were signs of tiger bites and blood near its face.
