Mumbai. The iconic singer Asha Bhosle has passed away at the age of 92. She took her last breath at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai. Reports indicate that her organs had ceased functioning. Her mortal remains will be available for public viewing at her residence from 11 AM to 3 PM, followed by the cremation at Shivaji Park at 4 PM.
Last night, she was admitted to the hospital after experiencing a cardiac arrest. However, her granddaughter Janai Bhosle provided a health update on her social media, mentioning that Asha was having difficulty breathing. She had developed a lung infection. Janai shared on Instagram that her grandmother was feeling quite weak and requested fans to respect their privacy, promising to provide updates as her condition improved.
Asha Bhosle was regarded as one of the greatest playback singers in Indian music history, and her passing has left a profound impact on the industry. In recent years, she faced several health challenges due to her age but remained active, participating in music events.
Reflecting on her journey, Asha recorded her first playback song for the Marathi film 'Majha Bal' in 1943. She made her Bollywood debut with the song 'Sawan Aaya' from the Hindi film 'Chunariya,' released in 1948. Born on September 8, 1933, Asha began her career at a young age and lent her voice to thousands of songs in various languages, including Hindi, Marathi, Bengali, and Gujarati.
