International Workers' Day Celebrated with Legal Awareness

A legal literacy camp was held at the Bhalei Mata Temple on International Workers’ Day, organized by the Legal Services Authority. The event was led by District and Sessions Judge Anuja Sood.


Judge Sood spoke about the significance of May 1, a day set aside to honor workers globally, acknowledging their rights to fair wages, safe working environments, and social security. She also highlighted the importance of women’s empowerment in fostering a robust and thriving nation.


During the event, Ekansh Kapil, Secretary of the Legal Services Authority, shared information about the free legal aid services available for marginalized communities, including women, children, industrial workers, individuals with disabilities, and those affected by natural disasters or exploitation. He encouraged attendees to utilize the toll-free helpline 15100 for assistance.


Traffic Magistrate Dr. Parth Jain also spoke to the audience about road safety, emphasizing the necessity of wearing helmets, using seat belts, and following traffic regulations. He cautioned against speeding, overloading, and driving under the influence, noting that violations of the Motor Vehicles Act can result in penalties.


The camp aimed to enhance awareness regarding fundamental rights, responsibilities, and safe practices, reinforcing the commitment to justice, equality, and responsible citizenship.
