Arrest of a Law Officer in Forgery Case

The police from the Nagar Kotwali in Pratapgarh district apprehended a law officer wanted for committing fraud by forging the signature of a tehsildar. This arrest took place at the Treasury Chowk, as reported by the police on Saturday.


Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Prashant Raj shared details on Saturday, stating that on May 10, 2023, the tehsildar of Sadar, Arvind Kumar, filed a complaint at the Nagar Kotwali regarding the manipulation of records using his forged signature.


During the investigation, it was discovered that the former clerk Nirbhay Yadav, who is currently serving as a law officer in Jaunpur, was involved in the case. The clerk had committed this fraud to facilitate a land transaction for an individual.


The police acted on a tip-off and arrested Nirbhay Yadav from the Treasury Chowk area on Friday. Legal proceedings have been initiated against him, and he has been sent to jail.
