Inauguration of 'Mantra-Viplav' at the World Book Fair
New Delhi. On January 15, 2026, Shri Dattatreya Hosabale, the General Secretary of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, inaugurated the book 'Mantra-Viplav' at the ongoing World Book Fair held at Bharat Mandapam. The book, authored by Tarun Vijay and published by Prabhat Prakashan, was launched in the presence of Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Sudhanshu Trivedi, the author Tarun Vijay, and Prabhat Prakashan's Chairman Prabhat Kumar.
During the book launch, Shri Dattatreya Hosabale emphasized that India's tradition is rooted in knowledge, which has led to the attainment of fame and prosperity. He noted that our ancestors had a clear understanding of this principle.
He stated that knowledge guides individuals in the right direction, but it must be accompanied by devotion; otherwise, knowledge can lead to arrogance.
He referenced Maharishi Aurobindo's three essential tasks for independent India: first, to gather the ancient knowledge traditions that are scattered; second, to make this knowledge relevant and useful for contemporary life; and third, to create new knowledge.
Shri Hosabale remarked that there is still much to study regarding the words of the Indian knowledge tradition.
Addressing the attempts to distort discourse, he mentioned that there is a malicious effort to present truth and history in a distorted manner, driven not by ignorance but by an agenda. This has led to confusion in society. As external influences increasingly control our minds, a state of 'Mantra-Viplav' emerges.
He explained that enchantment destroys intellect, and the loss of intellect leads to total destruction.
On this occasion, BJP Rajya Sabha MP Sudhanshu Trivedi pointed out that a segment of our intellectual establishment has become addicted to the M-factor (Macauley, Mughal, and Marx). He highlighted two types of challenges facing society: one that is visible and another that is insidious. 'Mantra-Viplav' addresses these unseen challenges and provides a path to tackle them.
Author Tarun Vijay shed light on the content of the 'Mantra-Viplav' book.
Mahatma Vidura once told Dhritarashtra, 'A single drop of poison kills only one person. A poisoned arrow can also strike only one. However, if thoughts become corrupt and confusion arises between the king and the subjects, then, O Dhritarashtra, a state of 'Mantra-Viplav' occurs, leading to the destruction of the king, the subjects, and the nation.' The writings in this book aim to counter that state of 'Mantra-Viplav' and strive to prevent it.
