Mount Abu. The book titled 'Social Media: Definition, Theory, and Practice' by Dr. Vineet Utpal, an assistant professor at the Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) Jammu, was launched in Mount Abu. The event took place on the second day of a five-day Social Media Influencer Retreat organized by the Brahma Kumaris. The book was unveiled by Rajyogini BK Jayanti Didi, the additional administrative officer of the institute, along with former IIMC Director Prof. Sanjay Dwivedi, Public Relations Officer BK Komal, BK Pallavi, and former professor E.V. Swaminathan from Mumbai University.




During the event, Rajyogini BK Jayanti Didi congratulated and honored Dr. Vineet Utpal, expressing that the launch of this book during the Social Media Influencer Retreat is a matter of pride.




Prof. Dwivedi Highlights the Book's Significance


Prof. Sanjay Dwivedi, the former director of IIMC, remarked that this book is the first of its kind in Hindi focusing on social media. It comprehensively covers the definitions and theories of social media along with its practical aspects. This book is not only beneficial for journalists but also for social media influencers. Students from various media institutions across the country have long awaited such a publication in Hindi.

Dr. Vineet Utpal stated that the book is entirely a textbook based on his two decades of experience in journalism and teaching. It considers the syllabus of social media taught in numerous universities across the country.
