Kedarnath Dham is one of the prominent Hindu pilgrimage destinations dedicated to Lord Shiva, attracting numerous devotees daily during the Yatra season. This region is known for its susceptibility to landslides, particularly during the monsoon and the preceding months, prompting travelers to exercise caution.

The Rudraprayag Police in Uttarakhand announced via their social media that the route to Kedarnath Dham has been compromised due to falling debris and stones in the ravine near Jangalchatti. Consequently, the pathway from Sonprayag to Kedarnath Dham has been temporarily closed until further notice. Authorities are ensuring robust security measures for pilgrims using the footpath, including those who had already embarked on their journey to Kedarnath Dham prior to the road's damage.

The landslide has caused significant rock and debris accumulation in the ravine, impacting a crucial section of the trekking path. In a statement shared on social media, the police reassured that all necessary precautions are being taken to ensure the safety of the pilgrims who had commenced their journey before the route was closed.
