Aditya Starts His Military Journey

Aditya, the grandson of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Lalu Prasad Yadav, has commenced his compulsory two-year basic military training in Singapore. His mother, Rohini Acharya, proudly announced this milestone on social media, expressing her admiration for her son's decision and describing him as brave, disciplined, and determined. In Singapore, basic military training is a requirement for young citizens.

Acharya shared that her eldest son departed for Singapore immediately after completing his pre-university studies at the age of 18 to undertake this essential training.

She reflected on the emotional significance of this moment for their family, stating that true strength and character are forged through life's toughest challenges. In her heartfelt message, she expressed, "Today, my heart is filled with pride. After finishing his pre-university education at 18, our son Aditya is heading for two years of basic military training... Aditya, you are brave, courageous, and disciplined. Go and show what you are capable of. Always remember that warriors are shaped in the hardest battles... Our love and support are always with you."

Rohini Acharya has been residing in Singapore with her husband, Samresh Singh, for several years. It is important to note that Aditya's enrollment in basic military training is not voluntary military service. By participating in this program, he is fulfilling Singapore's legally mandated National Service (NS), which requires all male citizens and second-generation permanent residents to complete two years of full-time service upon reaching adulthood. This national service can be completed in the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF), Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF), or the Singapore Police Force (SPF). This requirement applies equally to all, and evading it can lead to legal consequences.
