An important moment came when Christie missed a crucial crosscourt smash, allowing Lakshya to inch closer to victory. After successfully challenging a line call, Lakshya earned 10 match points and converted one to clinch the title with a 21-10 win in the second game.

PV Sindhu Secures Women's Singles Title

In the women's singles final, India's PV Sindhu triumphed over Denmark's Line Kjaersfeldt with scores of 21-12 and 21-14, claiming the Hylo Open title in Germany. This victory marked her second title of the season on the BWF World Tour. Sindhu completed the tournament without losing a single game, bouncing back after finishing as the runner-up at the French Open against world No. 1 An Se Young.

Sindhu began the final confidently, although Kjaersfeldt initially kept the first game competitive at 5-5. However, Sindhu gradually took control, leading 11-8 at the break and closing the game at 21-12. The second game was more challenging, with Kjaersfeldt narrowing the gap to 7-6 after trailing 7-3. Yet, Sindhu regained her momentum, leading 11-7 at the interval and extending it to 19-11. Despite a late surge from Kjaersfeldt, Sindhu held her composure to win 21-14 and secure the championship in straight games.
