Recent Drone Assault on Kyiv

Kyiv: Local officials reported that overnight drone and missile strikes by Russia resulted in the deaths of two individuals and left at least ten others injured in the Ukrainian capital.

This assault follows a brief lull over the weekend, coinciding with the arrival of US representatives Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff in Kyiv, who are on a mission to revive peace negotiations between Russia and Ukraine.

According to Ukraine's State Emergency Service, damage and fires were reported across five districts of the city, with the Kyiv City Military Administration noting that civilian infrastructure was affected in at least 16 different areas.

In the Holosiivskyi district, a 26-story non-residential building was struck, leading to a fire that spread to a nearby structure. Rescuers managed to save one individual and evacuated two others from a 16-story residential building.

Additionally, several residents were trapped in a five-story residential building in the Solomianskyi district, with emergency services successfully rescuing at least ten people. Fires were also reported in the Darnytskyi and Podilskyi districts.
