Key Developments from the Kurukshetra Development Board Meeting

The 82nd session of the Kurukshetra Development Board convened with Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini in attendance, under the leadership of Governor and Board Chairman Bandaru Dattatreya. The meeting highlighted several significant proposals aimed at enhancing the development of Kurukshetra.


During the discussions, Chief Minister Saini emphasized the government's ambition to elevate the cultural and spiritual significance of Kurukshetra on an international scale. He announced plans to establish four new information centers to better serve pilgrims and tourists visiting the area.



Additionally, the meeting included directives for increasing greenery in the Jyotisar pilgrimage zone. Proposals were made to create gates and plazas inspired by the Mahabharata, along with plans to introduce electric buses for transportation.


It was reported that, in addition to the previously identified 164 pilgrimage sites within the 48 Kos Kurukshetra area, a survey has successfully completed for 18 new locations.


Chief Secretary Anurag Rastorgi, Home Department Secretary Dr. Sumita Mishra, officials from the Kurukshetra Development Board, and senior representatives from various departments participated in the meeting.


Governor Bandaru Dattatreya remarked on the necessity for collective efforts to promote Kurukshetra's recognition nationwide. The meeting also saw participation from Geeta Manishi Swami Gyananand Maharaj, Cabinet Minister Vipul Goyal, MLA Ashok Arora, and MP Naveen Jindal, who joined via video conferencing. Various developmental aspects of Kurukshetra were thoroughly examined during the discussions.
