Kuldeep Yadav Shares Fun Moment About Team Bus Seating Arrangement

Kuldeep Yadav's Lighthearted Admission
During a recent press conference, Kuldeep Yadav, India's leg-spinner, humorously mentioned that he has taken over Rohit Sharma's usual spot on the team bus, rather than that of the new captain, Shubman Gill. Rohit, who led India in the last two World Test Championship cycles, has stepped back just before the new season begins. Although Shubman has officially assumed the captaincy, it is Kuldeep who has claimed Rohit's former seat to be closer to veteran all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja.
Kuldeep remarked, 'Uspe main baithta hu (I sit there),' referring to his new seating arrangement.
However, he quickly pointed out that while he may occupy Rohit's bus seat, stepping into his role as a player or leader is an entirely different challenge. Kuldeep emphasized that his decision was primarily about sitting next to Jadeja, especially since the experienced spinner will have to shoulder more responsibility in the absence of R. Ashwin. With Jadeja's extensive experience in England, his guidance will be crucial, particularly as Kuldeep has limited experience, having bowled just nine overs in one Test match in English conditions.
Kuldeep expressed, 'I can never take Rohit bhai's place. It's just that I am spending more time with Jaddu bhai. It's important as a spinner for me because Ash bhai is not there. I have learnt a lot from him. When I started my cricket, I have played with both of them. Very lucky to have Jadeja as my spin partner. I am enjoying it.'
As the team transitions into a new era following the retirements of stalwarts like Kohli and Rohit, the responsibility now lies with the younger players to rise to the occasion. Adapting to the unpredictable English weather and the conducive pitch conditions will pose a significant challenge for the batters. Shubman Gill's performance will be closely monitored, especially given his struggles outside India.
Kuldeep added, 'When the seniors go away, their absence is always felt. Virat bhai and Rohit bhai have done so much for the team. They will be missed, but it’s also an opportunity for youngsters to perform well. But yes, I am sure everybody would be missing the seniors. But the youngsters are excited for the challenge. Batsmen are working very hard in the nets and preparing really well.'
