Kolkata Law College Student Assault: Three Arrested in Disturbing Incident

On the night of June 25, a student at a law college in Kolkata was reportedly assaulted, leading to the arrest of three individuals, including two students and a former student of the institution. The police have identified the suspects as Manojit Mishra (31), Zaib Ahmed (19), and Pramit Mukhopadhyay, also known as Pramit Mukherjee (20). Kolkata police have swiftly arrested all three suspects, and the full weight of the law will be applied to ensure the harshest measures against those found guilty."

The TMC highlighted that this tragedy underscores the urgent need for the implementation of the Aparajita anti-rape bill, which calls for prompt investigations, swift trials, and severe penalties. They lamented the lack of action from the central BJP government in enforcing these measures. The state administration, under Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, is committed to providing all possible support to the victim during this challenging time, assuring that justice will be served.
