The arrest is linked to an event that occurred in November 2025 outside the Children’s Safety Village, a non-profit organization located in Orlando. Law enforcement responded to reports of gunfire and discovered two vehicles in the vicinity. Upon detecting the odor of marijuana, officers conducted a search of the vehicles.
According to an affidavit, authorities found illegal substances during their search, along with pink scissors and rings that matched items Kodak Black had showcased on his Instagram just a week prior. Reports indicate that Black approached the officers while they were investigating the vehicles.
Attorney's Statement
Kodak Black’s lawyer, Bradford Cohen, characterized the arrest as a “coordinated surrender.” He informed media outlets that one of the vehicles contained only a single passenger who was not Black. Cohen asserted that officers discovered a bag containing prescription cough syrup with Kodak’s fingerprint, but he criticized the trafficking charges as weak, stating they “should have never been filed.”
