Suspect Apprehended
An off-duty police officer apprehended the suspect at the scene. French Interior Minister Laurent Nunez stated that the suspect had only provided a self-identified name and was making incoherent remarks.
Nunez emphasized the need for caution regarding the motivations behind this violent act.

Multiple videos of the attack have surfaced on social media, with one clip showing the suspect making a religious declaration while being restrained, stating, "It is Allah who commanded me," as he lay on the ground.

This incident follows a separate attack in Germany just a day earlier, where an Islamic radical drove a van into a crowd near Berlin's Tiergarten park, resulting in one fatality and 29 injuries. The attacker subsequently used a machete against bystanders.
Local police reported that the suspect involved in the Berlin attack was shot dead after he approached officers with a weapon. German Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt indicated that this incident is being treated as an "Islamist terrorist attack."
