Kishor Indukari's Inspiring Journey from Engineer to Dairy Entrepreneur
The Importance of Following One's Passion
Many people often hear the advice that one should pursue what they love. However, there are still numerous individuals who follow the crowd, whether in career choices or other aspects of life. Family members frequently impose decisions on their children, insisting they enroll in specific courses, regardless of the child's interests. This can lead to a sense of dissatisfaction. Today, we share a remarkable story that illustrates how pursuing one's passion can lead to success, provided there is patience and a strong work ethic.
Kishor Indukari's Bold Decision
In today's world, many parents dream of their children becoming doctors, engineers, or scientists. However, Kishor Indukari's story is different. Many individuals work jobs they dislike for financial stability, often feeling unfulfilled. Kishor, an IIT alumnus, faced a similar dilemma. He decided to leave his high-paying job in the USA to pursue something he was passionate about, despite societal stigma.
A New Beginning in Dairy Farming
Upon returning to India, Kishor purchased 20 cows and ventured into dairy farming. After overcoming initial challenges, his hard work paid off, and his dairy business has now grown into a company valued at ₹44 crores. He established 'Sids Farm' in Hyderabad, focusing on delivering pure, unadulterated milk to customers through a subscription model. This innovative idea has led to significant growth for his company. Kishor hails from Karnataka.
Educational Background and Career Shift
Kishor completed his Master's and PhD at the University of Massachusetts and worked at Intel for six years. Despite his successful career, he felt unfulfilled and decided to return to his hometown in Karnataka. This decision marked a turning point in his life.
Identifying a Market Need
While in Hyderabad, Kishor noticed a lack of safe and healthy milk options available to consumers. This observation sparked a business idea, leading him to start his dairy with just 20 cows in 2012. He and his family began milking the cows and delivering organic milk directly to customers' homes. To ensure the milk's freshness, they invested in a system that maintained its quality from production to delivery.
The Success of Sids Farm
Kishor named his dairy farm 'Sids Farm' after his son, Siddharth. Today, the business serves around 10,000 customers and generates an annual income of ₹44 crores. In addition to milk, they also sell organic dairy products like yogurt and ghee. This story exemplifies that no job is too small or too big; every task, when approached with dedication and hard work, can lead to success.
