Protests Erupt Over Hostel Admission Policies

Kisan Ekta Sangathan Raises Concerns Over Gender Discrimination in University Hostels

In Jind, members of the Kisan Ekta Sangathan presented a memorandum to Chief Warden Dr. Jasveer Soora at Chaudhary Ranbir Singh University. They expressed their outrage over the university's decision to grant hostel access to male students while denying it to female students, labeling this as a serious act of discrimination. The administration's choice to allow boys into the hostel has disrupted the girls' academic classes.

The Kisan Student Unity Organization firmly opposes this unjust discrimination. They urged Dr. Jasveer Soora to address the issue, highlighting that the lack of hostel access has negatively impacted the girls' educational experience.

Equal Educational Opportunities Are a Constitutional Right

Abhishek Julana, the deputy head of the organization, emphasized that providing equal educational opportunities for girls is a constitutional right, and they will not compromise on this matter. He warned that if the university administration does not rectify this discrimination promptly, the organization may resort to more aggressive protests.

Student leader Navratna Mathur called for immediate intervention from the university administration to ensure that female students receive their rightful access to the hostel facilities. Chief Warden Dr. Jasveer Soora assured that action would be taken soon regarding this matter. Other student leaders present included Jaskaran, Aman Pegan, and Nitesh Jangra.
