Kiren Rijiju Accuses Opposition of Anti-Ram Stance Amid Protests

Allegations Against Opposition Parties

Kiren Rijiju, the Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, has accused the Congress, Communist Party of India (CPI), and Samajwadi Party (SP) of adopting an anti-Ram stance. Speaking in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday, he criticized the opposition's protests regarding alleged embezzlement of donations for the Ayodhya Ram Temple. Rijiju highlighted that members of these parties wore black bands to express their opposition to the temple's construction.

Call for Apology

Rijiju stated that these parties have consistently opposed the existence of Lord Ram. He expressed disappointment over the drama enacted by the opposition within the Parliament premises and urged them to publicly apologize for disrespecting both the nation and Lord Ram. He emphasized that Congress, SP, and CPI should seek forgiveness for their actions.

Parliamentary Disruptions

These remarks came amid ongoing protests by opposition MPs, which led to repeated adjournments of parliamentary proceedings. Earlier on Wednesday, a meeting took place between government and opposition leaders to discuss the delimitation bill, lasting approximately 50 minutes at Rahul Gandhi's office. Congress leaders confirmed that during this discussion, Rijiju sought to understand the opposition's stance on the bill.

Opposition March

Additionally, opposition MPs, including Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, marched from the statue of Gandhi at the Inspiration Site to the main entrance of Parliament. This protest was directed against Union Home Minister Amit Shah, addressing issues such as police action against CJP protesters on July 20, alleged misappropriation of funds for the Ayodhya Ram Temple, and other concerns.
