Chennai Super Kings (CSK) fast bowler Khaleel Ahmed has been officially ruled out for the remainder of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 season due to a quadricep injury, as confirmed by the franchise on Wednesday.


The injury occurred during a match against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Chepauk Stadium.


CSK released a statement saying, "OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: Khaleel Ahmed has been ruled out of IPL 2026 after sustaining a right quadricep injury in the game against KKR. We wish Khaleel a speedy recovery. #WhistlePodu."


The statement further noted that the recovery period for this injury is expected to exceed 12 weeks.

This season, Khaleel has played five matches, managing to secure only two wickets with an average of 73.00 and an economy rate of 8.67, achieving best figures of 1/24.


In the previous IPL season with CSK, he recorded 15 wickets across 14 matches, averaging 29.80, with his best performance being 3/29 and an economy rate of 9.57.
