Today, Khajjiar, a renowned tourist hotspot, witnessed a significant cleanliness initiative as part of the Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign 2026. The event was graced by Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Repswal and Additional Deputy Commissioner Amit Mehra.


The campaign saw enthusiastic involvement from the district administration, various departments, local Panchayati Raj institutions, students, volunteers, and community members. A comprehensive cleanliness and waste collection operation was executed throughout Khajjiar’s tourist areas and adjacent forest regions. Participants gathered scattered plastic and other waste, transporting it to designated disposal sites while promoting the importance of cleanliness and environmental stewardship.


Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Repswal highlighted the significance of community engagement and shared responsibility in keeping tourist destinations pristine. He called upon residents, visitors, and students to practice proper waste disposal and help maintain Khajjiar’s natural allure. While addressing students from Government Senior Secondary School Khajjiar, he encouraged them to maintain cleanliness in their surroundings and advocate for hygiene within their families and communities.


Awareness slogans like “Swachhata Mein Sahbhagita, Swachh Bharat–Viksit Bharat” and “Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath, Ek Din” were utilized to motivate citizens towards cleanliness and environmental protection.


The drive saw active participation from students, local self-help groups, residents of Gram Panchayat Khajjiar, volunteers from My Bharat, ICDS Anganwadi workers, and the Poshan Abhiyan team. The district administration reiterated its commitment to organizing similar initiatives throughout the region, particularly in tourist areas, public spaces, and ecologically sensitive zones.
