Gill also needs 424 runs to become the fastest Indian captain to achieve 1,500 runs in Test cricket, breaking Sunil Gavaskar's record of 21 innings. Additionally, he is only 50 runs away from joining Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ajinkya Rahane as the third Indian batter to score 1,000 runs in a single WTC cycle.
Moreover, Gill could become one of the few Indian captains to win a Test series in Sri Lanka, potentially making him the youngest Indian captain to do so.
Rishabh Pant's Record-Breaking Chances
