The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has placed an 'Orange Alert' for Alappuzha and Kottayam, indicating the possibility of very heavy rainfall ranging from 11 to 20 centimeters over a three-hour period.

Orange Alert in Two Districts: The alert for Alappuzha and Kottayam suggests that these areas may experience significant rainfall.
Thunderstorms Expected: Additionally, light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms is anticipated in several other districts, including Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, and Ernakulam.
High Wind Warning: The weather department has warned that strong winds could reach speeds of 40 to 50 kilometers per hour in affected areas during the rainfall.
The IMD has indicated that heavy rainfall is likely in certain parts of these two districts, along with the possibility of strong winds. The 'Orange Alert' is issued when there is a forecast of very heavy rainfall between 11 to 20 centimeters.
Furthermore, the IMD has forecasted light rain with thunderstorms in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, and Ernakulam, along with winds reaching 40-50 kilometers per hour.
Just a day prior, the weather department had warned of heavy rainfall in the state until June 14, advising against fishing activities along the coastal regions of Kerala, Karnataka, and Lakshadweep on June 11 and 12 due to adverse weather conditions.
