Shocking Case of Abuse in Kerala

Kerala Father Sentenced to 178 Years for Horrific Crimes Against Daughter

A disturbing case has emerged from Kerala, revealing the dark reality of a father who has betrayed the sacred bond with his daughter. In a ruling by a POCSO court in Manjeri, a 40-year-old man was sentenced to an astonishing 178 years in prison for raping his 11-year-old daughter. Additionally, Judge A.M. Ashraf imposed a fine of ₹11 lakh on him.

The accused committed these heinous acts three times between January 2022 and January 2023 within their home. He even threatened his daughter, warning her that he would kill her if she disclosed the abuse to anyone. The court sentenced him to 40 years under serious charges of the POCSO Act, along with another 40 years under the Indian Penal Code.

Previous Convictions and Ongoing Sentences

Moreover, he received a five-year sentence for assault and criminal intimidation, and an additional three years for holding the child captive. All sentences will run concurrently, meaning he will spend at least 40 years in prison. If he fails to pay the fine, he will face an additional 18 months behind bars.

What is particularly shocking is that this man was already serving a 20-year sentence for raping a disabled woman in October 2021 and attempting to assault her again in February 2022. He was released on bail from that case and immediately targeted his own daughter.
