Kerala Congress (M) Affirms Alliance with LDF Ahead of Elections
Support for Party Agenda
On Friday, Kerala's Minister Roshy Augustine expressed his agreement with the statement made by Jose K. Mani, the president of Kerala Congress (M). Augustine emphasized that Mani's remarks reflect the party's official stance, asserting that there has been no shift in the party's agenda. Mani had previously stated that the party intends to maintain its alliance with the Left Democratic Front (LDF) for the upcoming elections.
Election Strategy Discussion
Before a party meeting, Jose K. Mani addressed reporters, stating that the focus is on the upcoming election campaign. He confirmed that the party has decided to continue its previous strategy in collaboration with the LDF for the elections ahead. Earlier, Congress MP J.B. Mathai mentioned that Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the opposition in the Lok Sabha, is scheduled to visit Kochi on January 19 to boost party morale and formally kick off the campaign for the 2026 Kerala Assembly elections.
Rahul Gandhi's Upcoming Visit
Mathai announced that Rahul Gandhi will arrive at Kochi Marine Drive at 2 PM on January 19 to inspire enthusiasm and initiate the election campaign for the 2026 Assembly elections. He noted that the event will feature Congress leaders and candidates from the recent local body elections. All victorious candidates, including those who bravely contested, as well as the heads of panchayats and municipalities, will be present to receive recognition from Rahul Gandhi during a grand celebration.
