Accusations Against UDF

Pinarayi Vijayan, the Chief Minister of Kerala, has accused the United Democratic Front (UDF) of resorting to blatant falsehoods regarding their support for the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) in Malappuram. During a press conference on Saturday, Vijayan asserted that the Left Democratic Front (LDF) is a proactive government that fulfills its promises, achieving a historic second term based on recognized developmental changes by the public. He criticized leaders like Ramesh Chennithala and V.D. Satheesan for using misinformation and unfounded allegations to divert attention from their pro-corporate and globalization policies.

Vijayan further stated that while the opposition attempts to criticize the LDF's strategy of fielding independent candidates and spreading misinformation, the reality is that the RSS leadership has openly called for votes for the UDF. He expressed confidence that the public can discern the opposition's political propaganda and recognize which party prioritizes the public interest. Ultimately, he emphasized that the LDF does not wish to engage in fabricated controversies, as the public is well aware of these agendas and prefers the government's genuine, people-centric approach.

CPI(M) Secretary Defends Party's Stance

Separately, M.V. Govindan, the secretary of the Kerala CPI(M), criticized Congress leader V.D. Satheesan and defended the party's opposition to the BJP. Speaking to reporters on Friday, Govindan remarked that the people of Kerala understand that the CPI(M) is the force that staunchly opposes the RSS, while the UDF maintains ties with them. Analyzing voting data reveals who truly aided the BJP's success; it was the CPI(M) that effectively shut down the BJP's account in Nehru. This party is the only opposition that has taken a stance against development in this election.

Govindan also accused Satheesan of spreading lies and failing to condemn the public support of Jamaat-e-Islami for the UDF. He claimed that Satheesan's primary role is to spread falsehoods; despite their claims of being against communalism, they have not uttered a word regarding the public endorsement of Jamaat-e-Islami for the UDF. Additionally, KM Shaji exemplifies communalism; wherever they contest elections, they speak nothing but communal politics.
