Vijayan's Strong Critique of Rahul Gandhi
On Saturday, Kerala's Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan launched a fierce critique against Rahul Gandhi, branding him as the 'B-Team' of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Vijayan accused both the BJP and Congress of engaging in appeasement politics, asserting that they have consistently opposed the Left Democratic Front (LDF), led by the Communist Party of India (Marxist). He emphasized that the two parties are now collaborating closely. The Chief Minister remarked that Gandhi is among those who refuse to learn from their experiences, describing such individuals as rare and typically unable to grasp the complexities of issues, placing the former Congress president in this category.
Congress as BJP's 'B-Team'
Vijayan pointed out that when viewed from a national perspective, the Congress party, under Gandhi's leadership, has effectively become the BJP's true 'B-Team'. However, he refrained from delving into further details. He accused the Congress of practicing appeasement politics aimed at garnering support from both majority and minority communal groups. In contrast, he stated that the CPI(M) and LDF stand firmly against communalism, highlighting that their coalition is distinct from communal forces. He stressed the importance of distancing from communalism, criticizing the United Democratic Front (UDF) for compromising on this front, which he believes poses a threat to the nation, regardless of its form.
Call for a Firm Stance Against Communalism
Vijayan asserted the necessity of adopting a strong stance against communalism, which he described as a hallmark of their position. He declared that they will not compromise with any communal forces and are opposed to all forms of communalism. Additionally, he mentioned that Gandhi, who serves as the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, had made serious allegations against Arvind Kejriwal, the national convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). However, a Delhi court dismissed all charges against the former Delhi Chief Minister and others, which Vijayan interpreted as a significant setback for the Congress leader.
