Kerala BJP President Rajeev Chandrasekhar Denies Congress Allegations on Asset Disclosure
Chandrasekhar Responds to Congress Claims
Rajeev Chandrasekhar, the President of the BJP in Kerala, has dismissed allegations from the Congress party regarding his failure to disclose his assets in his election affidavit. Speaking to a news agency on Wednesday, he characterized these accusations as a desperate and sorrowful attempt by a frightened opposition to divert attention from development issues. He emphasized that making such claims does not make them true, labeling it as a straightforward and unfortunate effort by the anxious Congress and CPM to distract the public from progress. He questioned why, if they possess evidence, they are not approaching the police or the election commission.
Predictions for Kerala's Political Landscape
Chandrasekhar also predicted a significant shift in Kerala's political landscape, suggesting that this will be the last election featuring three fronts. He anticipates that in the next election, only the NDA will remain, while Congress and the LDF will officially unite as part of the India alliance. Previously, K.S. Sabari Nathan, a Congress leader and candidate from the United Democratic Front in the Nemom assembly constituency, lodged a complaint with the Election Commission, alleging that Chandrasekhar failed to disclose assets worth ₹200 crore.
UDF and Congress to Pursue Investigation
Sabari Nathan stated that he submitted his nomination yesterday. The verification of nomination papers for the Kerala assembly elections is set to begin at 11 AM today. Given the serious allegations against BJP leader Chandrasekhar regarding his asset declaration, the UDF and Congress, along with Nathan as their candidate, plan to formally approach the Election Commission during the investigation process, providing further information and evidence.
