Kejriwal Seeks Clarity on Iranian Stance

Arvind Kejriwal, the national convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party, raised concerns on Friday regarding the Iranian leadership's position on the passage of Indian vessels through the Strait of Hormuz. Following discussions with Iran's president, Kejriwal questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi about whether citizens could expect relief from this pressing crisis soon. He took to social media to inquire if any concrete assurances had been provided by the Iranian leadership. He asked, "Prime Minister, did the Iranian president assure you that our ships will be allowed to pass through Hormuz? Will citizens soon be free from this serious crisis?"

Response to PM Modi's Concerns

This statement from the former Chief Minister of Delhi was a direct response to a social media post by PM Modi, who had engaged in significant telephone discussions with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian regarding the escalating conflicts in West Asia. In his post, Modi expressed deep concern over the rising tensions, particularly regarding civilian casualties and damage to infrastructure. He stated, "I spoke with Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian to discuss the serious situation in the region, expressing my grave concerns about the loss of civilian lives and damage to civilian infrastructure."

Emphasis on Citizen Safety

The Prime Minister also emphasized that ensuring the safety of Indian citizens is the government's top priority. He highlighted the importance of maintaining uninterrupted supply chains for goods and energy. Modi reiterated that both the safety of Indian nationals and the seamless flow of goods and energy are paramount for India. He reaffirmed India's commitment to peace and stability, stressing the need for dialogue and diplomacy to resolve the crisis.
