Kedarnath Temple Welcomes Pilgrims
New Delhi: The highly awaited moment has arrived as the sacred doors of Baba Kedarnath opened for public darshan on Friday. This marks the official start of the Char Dham Yatra, inviting devotees to embark on their spiritual pilgrimage to the revered Himalayan shrines for the upcoming six months.
The opening ceremony of Kedarnath Dham was celebrated with elaborate religious rituals and the recitation of Vedic hymns, attended by thousands of eager devotees. The atmosphere was filled with festivity and devotion as pilgrims gathered to witness this spiritually significant occasion.
Uttarakhand's Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, who has been closely overseeing the preparations for the pilgrimage, reaffirmed his dedication to facilitating smooth travel and registration for all devotees.
During his address, he mentioned, “I visited Rishikesh, the initial stop of the Yatra, to assess the arrangements. We have engaged with various stakeholders and instructed officials to maintain open lines of communication with pilgrims throughout their journey.”
He also shared, “Each year, we await the opening of Baba Kedarnath's doors with immense reverence. This year, the Char Dham Yatra commenced on April 30, coinciding with the auspicious occasion of Akshaya Tritiya. I was fortunate to be present at the opening of the Ganga shrine in Gangotri, feeling blessed to partake in these divine moments. In just two days, the doors of Badrinath Dham will also be opened.”
The Chief Minister commended the local contributors, particularly praising Himanshu Chamoli and his team for their efforts in logistics and transportation. “I commend Himanshu Chamoli and his entire team for ensuring efficient transportation and proper arrangements at the stations during the pilgrimage,” he stated.
He emphasized the importance of traders along the pilgrimage routes, noting that their livelihoods are closely tied to the Yatra, making their contributions invaluable to the state and region.
This year, the Kedarnath Temple has been embellished like never before. The Pushp Samiti from Rishikesh and Gujarat has adorned the temple with an impressive 108 quintals of vibrant flowers, enhancing the divine beauty and fragrance of the already majestic shrine, leaving devotees in awe.
