Kawasaki Z300 Launched in India: Features and Pricing Details
Festive Season Brings New Launches
As the festive season unfolds in India, shoppers are flocking to markets, and vehicle manufacturers are equally enthusiastic. Among the latest offerings is the Kawasaki Z300, a new naked sports bike that has just been introduced in the Indian market. Notably, this model is now the most affordable option in Kawasaki's Z-series lineup available for sale in India, featuring the same robust 296cc engine found in the Ninja 300. However, it is priced higher than competitors like the KTM 390 Duke.
Engine Specifications and Performance
The Kawasaki Z300 is equipped with a 296cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine. This powertrain generates a maximum output of 39.4bhp at 11,000rpm and peak torque of 26.3Nm at 10,000rpm. It comes with a 6-speed gearbox and includes a slip and assist clutch. The engine incorporates dual-throttle valve technology, designed to enhance performance at higher RPMs, making it an excellent choice for fans of twin-cylinder engines.
Design and Aesthetics
The design of the new Z300 draws inspiration from Kawasaki's popular Z900 model. It features Z-shaped headlights and extended fuel tank accents. The bike is fitted with a wide single-piece handlebar, providing a comfortable and upright riding position. With a seat height of 785mm and a weight of 175 kilograms, it also boasts a 17-liter fuel tank and a ground clearance of 140mm.
Noteworthy Features
Instead of a TFT screen, the motorcycle is equipped with a reverse LCD instrument console that displays essential information such as speed, RPM, fuel level, engine temperature, clock, odometer, and trip meter. For suspension, it features a 37mm telescopic fork at the front and an adjustable monoshock at the rear. The braking system includes a 290mm disc brake at the front and a 220mm disc brake at the rear, with dual-channel ABS as a standard safety feature.
Competition and Pricing
Currently, the Kawasaki Z300 is available in one variant and two color options: Candy Lime Green/Ebony and Metallic Carbon Gray/Ebony. The ex-showroom price is set at ₹3.24 lakh, which is ₹10,000 less than the Ninja 300 but approximately ₹38,664 more than the KTM 390 Duke. The Z300 is expected to compete primarily with the TVS Apache RTR 310.
