Kavitha's Vision for Telangana

On April 24, Kavitha, the president of Telangana Jagruti, revealed plans to establish a new regional political party aimed at prioritizing the aspirations and unfinished agenda of the state. She emphasized that she and her supporters were expelled from the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and clarified that their departure was not voluntary. Kavitha pointed out that while the BRS was formed to address Telangana's regional needs, it has strayed from its original mission, leading to a disconnect with the public.

Kavitha expressed that a party that deviates from its core issues cannot sustain itself. She stated, "We need a regional party to fulfill Telangana's unfinished agenda and aspirations, and that will be our party." She further mentioned that the BRS, led by her father, has expelled them, asserting, "We did not leave; we were expelled from the party and the family. I do not wish to elaborate on this matter. However, I am a daughter of Telangana, and its spirit runs in my veins. We are resolute and fully committed to our goals."

Reflecting on her two decades of involvement in the Telangana movement, she affirmed her dedication to the state's development and aspirations, regardless of her previous party affiliation or family support. "The people of Telangana are my family," she stated, adding that the essence of Telangana inspires her. Drawing from her political experience, Kavitha expressed her desire to learn from the legacy of successful leaders in India. With confidence in her 20 years of political experience, she believes they can effectively lead the new party and aims to bring it to power in Telangana, ensuring excellent governance.

Kavitha emphasized that the new party will operate for the "public interest" rather than personal gain. She noted that past political and personal challenges have only strengthened her resolve. "This party is not about personal agendas; it is for the people. Whether it’s being targeted by the BJP or the BRS, I have endured much. But the purpose of this party is not about me; it is about the welfare of the people of Telangana. The pain I have experienced has made me a stronger and better person. My goal is to serve the public."
