Chidambaram reaffirmed that Congress remains a part of the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) coalition in Tamil Nadu. He mentioned, "We are part of the INDIA alliance, leading it, and DMK is a member of this coalition. In Tamil Nadu, DMK is at the forefront of this alliance, and we are integral to it." He dismissed comments made by Union Home Minister Amit Shah against the DMK, asserting that no political party can be entirely dismantled, as it ultimately depends on public support.
Responding to the uncertainty surrounding the censor certification of actor Vijay's film 'Jana Nayakan', Chidambaram stated that the censor board should clarify the reasons for the delay. He remarked, "I am not privy to the details; I have only read about it in the news. This is a procedural matter between them and the censor board. I cannot comment on why there is a delay despite timely submission of the application; that is entirely up to the censor board."
