Despite the Governor's absence from Bengaluru, sources from the Chief Minister's office have stated that there will be no changes to the political plans in light of recent events. It was further indicated that if Siddaramaiah submits his resignation, it will be formally sent to the Governor's office, regardless of Gehlot's location.

The power struggle within the Congress party has intensified, especially as the Karnataka government marks the halfway point of its five-year term on November 20, 2025. Following the Congress victory in the 2023 Karnataka Assembly elections, both Siddaramaiah and D.K. Shivakumar emerged as strong contenders for the chief minister position. However, party leadership ultimately persuaded Shivakumar to accept the deputy chief minister role.
