Minister's Response to Corruption Claims
Karnataka's Minister G. Parameshwara addressed the allegations of corruption against Excise Minister R.B. Timmapur, made by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), stating that "these claims cannot be accepted until proven." He mentioned that efforts are underway to pass a resolution against the VB-G-RAM-G Act in the assembly. Speaking to reporters, Parameshwara emphasized that accusations remain just that—accusations—until substantiated by evidence. He reiterated the importance of proof in such matters.
Timmapur Refuses to Resign
In response to the BJP's calls for his resignation, Karnataka's Excise Minister R.B. Timmapur firmly stated, "There is no evidence, and therefore, I will not resign." He maintained his stance against the allegations.
Criticism from Congress Leaders
Additionally, Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge criticized the BJP, asserting that they lack solid evidence before demanding Timmapur's resignation. He defended Timmapur, accusing the opposition of attempting to appease the public without presenting any proof. Kharge challenged the opposition to provide evidence, stating he would be willing to resign if they could present even a single piece of proof.

Meanwhile, BJP leaders continued their nighttime protests in the assembly, with opposition leader R. Ashok and other party legislators spending the night in the assembly premises. They are demanding Timmapur's resignation, alleging corruption within the Excise Department.
Allegations of Large-Scale Corruption
During the protests against the Congress government in the Karnataka assembly, opposition leader R. Ashok accused the government of massive corruption, claiming to have evidence to support his allegations. Speaking to reporters, Ashok stated, "We have staged a protest in the Karnataka assembly. There are audio and video recordings. I presented all the evidence in the assembly yesterday. We will continue this fight. This is the biggest loot in Karnataka." The protest, which began a day earlier, continued into the second day, with BJP legislators seen taking morning walks in the assembly premises.
