Allegations Against BJP Regarding Ram Temple Funds
Karnataka's Home Minister Priyank Kharge expressed strong criticism of the BJP on Saturday regarding alleged misappropriation of funds related to the Ram Temple. Speaking to reporters in Bengaluru, he questioned the silence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on this issue. Kharge asked, "Where is the Prime Minister's voice now? Where is Yogi Adityanath's voice?" He emphasized that the sentiments of Lord Ram's devotees should not be taken lightly. He further questioned whether Congress or the Samajwadi Party (SP) had any involvement, stating that the BJP has failed to protect the faith of the people. He accused them of exploiting the name of Lord Ram for personal gain and engaging in politics under the guise of religion.
SP Leader's Remarks on BJP's Priorities
Prior to this, SP leader Akhilesh Yadav also criticized the BJP, alleging that the ruling party prioritizes wealth over faith. He warned that those who play with the emotions of devotees would never be forgiven by Lord Ram. Speaking in Azamgarh, Yadav remarked that the public has long perceived that the BJP is more focused on wealth than on religion, asserting that for them, wealth comes first, followed by faith. He questioned the Chief Minister's claims of setting a world record for visiting Ayodhya, asking if he was unaware of the conditions there. Yadav noted that the Sindhi community has accused the BJP of making donations of silver and diamonds without proper acknowledgment, stating that Lord Ram cannot forgive those who manipulate people's faith.
Judicial Developments in the Case
On Friday, a court in Ayodhya placed eight individuals under judicial custody until June 29 in connection with the Ram Temple fund misappropriation case. Following their arrest, these individuals were presented in a local court. K.C. Verma, the prosecution officer at the Ayodhya Chief Judicial Magistrate's Court, informed reporters that all eight accused would remain in custody until Monday and are scheduled to appear in court again on June 29.
