Discontent Among Congress Leaders in Karnataka

Bengaluru, August 4 - Senior Congress legislator Dinesh Gundu Rao has voiced his disappointment regarding his exclusion from the cabinet led by Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar in Karnataka. Rao, who has been a prominent face for the party among the Brahmin community, previously served as the Health Minister during the Siddaramaiah administration. In a post on the social media platform 'X', he expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve the people of Karnataka as both a legislator and a minister throughout his political career.

He stated, "I am thankful for the chance to serve the people of Karnataka as a legislator and minister during my entire political journey. The initiatives I have worked on have led to tangible changes at the grassroots level. My six-time election as a legislator was made possible because the people continued to place their trust in me, and that trust means the most to me."

Rao, the son of former Chief Minister R. Gundu Rao, further remarked, "It is disheartening that after years of service to the state and the party, I have not been given the opportunity to serve in this cabinet. I am disappointed to have been excluded without any explanation provided."

Currently, there are only 34 ministerial positions in Karnataka, including the Chief Minister. Following the expansion that took place on Monday, there may be room for one more minister to join the cabinet.
