Karnataka CM Declares Meeting with MPs a Major Success
Successful Meeting in the National Capital
Bengaluru, July 28 - The Chief Minister of Karnataka, D.K. Shivakumar, labeled his recent meeting with elected MPs from the state in the national capital as a significant achievement. He emphasized that the gathering held on Monday demonstrated that 'strength lies in unity.' The Chief Minister highlighted the necessity for leaders from various parties to collaborate for the development of Karnataka.
The Chief Minister's Office (CMO) reported that the meeting received an unprecedented response from MPs across all political parties, with even opposition leaders praising its objectives and the inclusive approach taken by the Chief Minister. According to the CMO, Union Ministers Prahlad Joshi, Shobha Karandlaje, and V. Somanna, along with the state's main opposition leader Basavaraj Bommai from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and Rajya Sabha member Sudha Murthy, noted that they had never witnessed such a large turnout of MPs at a meeting before, calling it 'a first of its kind.' They commended Shivakumar for organizing the meeting, describing the initiative as 'commendable.'
The CMO stated, 'This meeting sent a clear message that there is strength in unity.' The statement added, 'The leaders supported the Chief Minister's appeal to rise above party lines and work together for the development of Karnataka.'
Attendees included Union Ministers Joshi, Somanna, and Karandlaje, along with Lok Sabha members Bommai, Shettar, P.C. Gaddigoudar, Sagar Khandre, Dr. Manjunath, Tejasvi Surya, P.C. Mohan, Dr. Sudhakar, Sunil Bose, Priyanka Jarkiholi, Prabha Mallikarjun, Shreyas Patel, Yaduveer Wadiyar, B.Y. Raghavendra, Vishveshwara Hegde Kageri, and Kota Srinivasa Poojari. Rajya Sabha members Sudha Murthy, Jairam Ramesh, Ajay Maken, Syed Nasir Hussain, Narayan Bhandage, M. Nagaraj, Mansoor Khan, and Pawan Khera were also part of the meeting. The CMO noted that Union Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and H.D. Kumaraswamy, along with Rajya Sabha members Mallikarjun Kharge, Jaggesh, Lahar Singh, and Dr. Virendra Hegde, were unable to attend due to prior commitments but had informed in advance.
