Karnataka's Initiative for Youth Empowerment

The Karnataka government has sanctioned a substantial ₹1,010 crore initiative aimed at establishing 10,000 youth clubs throughout the state. This program is designed to foster sports, cultural activities, scientific thinking, leadership skills, and camaraderie among the youth. According to a government order issued on July 13, 2026, each youth club will receive an annual grant of ₹10 lakh, leading to a total allocation of ₹1,000 crore for the clubs. Additionally, ₹10 crore has been earmarked for administrative expenses and the Project Management Unit (PMU). Under this initiative, a 'Bharat Jodo Youth Union' will be set up in every gram panchayat, while urban areas will see the establishment of youth clubs based on population, with one club for every 4,000 to 10,000 residents. Municipal corporations and the Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) will contribute funds from their respective budgets.

Implementation and Support for Youth Clubs

This initiative will be executed in collaboration with various departments, including Youth Empowerment and Sports, Rural Development and Panchayat Raj, Urban Development, Revenue, and Education. Each youth club will also receive funding to provide an annual stipend of ₹24,000 for a trainer. The government has stated that the program will be implemented according to official guidelines, and any future modifications will require the approval of the Minister for Youth Empowerment and Sports.
