Kangra Launches Water Conservation Campaign: 'Save Our Water'

Following the directives from the Himachal Pradesh State Legal Services Authority, a week-long initiative named “Save Our Water: Preserve, Protect & Restore” was effectively carried out from April 20 to April 25, 2026, organized by the District Legal Services Authority Kangra.

The primary goal of this campaign was to enhance the conservation, safeguarding, and restoration of natural water sources and bodies. Throughout various locations in the district, Para Legal Volunteers (PLVs), in partnership with the Jal Shakti Department Himachal Pradesh, conducted cleaning initiatives at traditional water sources like bawdis and other local water bodies.

During these efforts, the local community was educated on the significance of water conservation and encouraged to maintain the cleanliness and safety of water sources. The powerful message that “Water is Life” was emphasized, highlighting that joint efforts are crucial for its preservation.

On this occasion, Shri R. Mihul Sharma, Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority Kangra in Dharamshala, pointed out that such initiatives not only raise awareness but also foster a sense of duty towards environmental conservation. He urged all citizens to engage actively in water conservation efforts and to ensure the cleanliness and safety of natural water sources.
