Kangra District Judge Launches Tree Plantation Initiative in Dharamshala

Tree Plantation Drive and Literacy Camp Inaugurated

Dharamshala: In a significant environmental initiative, Rajeev Bali, the District and Sessions Judge of Kangra, who also serves as the Chairman of the District Legal Services Authority, launched a tree plantation drive alongside a literacy camp near the Circuit House in Dharamshala. This event was organized under the auspices of the Himachal Pradesh State Legal Services Authority, Shimla.


The drive was conducted in partnership with the Himachal Pradesh Forest Department as part of the 'Tree Plantation Drive 2025', according to a statement from the Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority.


Judge Rajeev Bali commenced the program by planting an Amla (Indian Gooseberry) sapling. The event saw participation from various dignitaries associated with the Dharamshala court, including Jyotsna Sumant Dadhwal, Presiding Judge of the Family Court; Rajesh Chauhan, Additional District and Sessions Judge; Sheetal Sharma, Additional District and Sessions Judge; Nitin Mittal, Additional District and Sessions Judge (POCSO Court); Hakikat Dhanda, Chief Judicial Magistrate; Shikha Lakhanpal, Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority; and Varun, Judicial Magistrate, First Class.


Students from the Government Boys Senior Secondary School in Dharamshala and officials from the Forest Department also participated in the plantation drive. Together, they planted a total of 35 saplings of various species, including Amla, Jamun, Baheda, Harad, Wan, and Deodar.


During the event, Judge Rajeev Bali urged the children to engage in tree planting and take active steps to safeguard the environment.
