The Swachhta Pakhwada initiative, designed to enhance awareness about cleanliness across the nation, wrapped up at the Kangra Airport’s Aeronautical Meteorological Station with remarkable enthusiasm and dedication. This two-week campaign, which ran from July 1 to July 15, 2026, included a variety of eco-friendly and cleanliness activities.
The campaign kicked off with a thorough cleaning of the meteorological observatory grounds and the staff parking area. Additionally, a tree planting event was organized to support environmental sustainability, with Airport Director Amit Saklani, Office In-charge Vipin Sharma, and other staff members actively participating in planting saplings.
To emphasize the importance of cleanliness, banners were placed at the ATC building entrance, and all personnel took a ‘Swachhta Pledge’. A signature campaign was also held, encouraging staff from various departments to commit to maintaining the airport's cleanliness and aesthetic appeal.
The campaign received enthusiastic support from Meteorological Department personnel, including Shailja Thakur, Adish Jain, Veer Chand, and Akash, along with officials and employees from other airport divisions.
This collaborative effort underscored the significance of clean environments and ecological responsibility, positioning Kangra Airport as a benchmark for community-led cleanliness initiatives.
