BJP MP Expresses Alarm Over Parliamentary Chaos

MANDI: BJP Member of Parliament from Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, and actress Kangana Ranaut has raised serious concerns regarding the ongoing disruptions in Parliament during the current monsoon session. She noted that the atmosphere within the House has become so tumultuous that it is increasingly challenging to remain seated.
In a statement to the media, Kangana remarked, “There seems to be an effort to encourage disorder. Whenever someone criticizes the nation, the Congress party is quick to back them. The state of Parliament has declined to a point where it is hard to stay inside due to the relentless sloganeering from the opposition.”
This statement comes as protests and disruptions by opposition parties continue in both Houses of Parliament. The monsoon session has now reached its tenth day, with proceedings frequently adjourned due to uproar from opposition members. A similar scenario unfolded on Thursday, necessitating multiple adjournments to restore order.
Kangana Highlights Flood Crisis in Lok Sabha
Earlier this week, on Wednesday, Kangana Ranaut addressed the issue of severe flooding in her constituency, Mandi, during the zero hour in the Lok Sabha. She emphasized the extensive damage caused by cloudbursts and heavy rainfall, stating, “We are all witnessing the destruction in Mandi on our screens. Cloudbursts are happening frequently, leading to significant loss of life and property. Numerous villages and bridges have been swept away.”
The MP criticized the state government's response to the disaster and sought clarification on the central government's financial assistance. “The Centre is allocating relief funds amounting to thousands of crores, but we need to know how much has been received and when, as the state government is not adequately acknowledging the support. There is a lack of transparency regarding the rehabilitation efforts,” she stated.
As the monsoon session of Parliament is likely to remain tumultuous, opposition parties are intensifying their demands on various national issues. Meanwhile, the situation in the flood-affected regions of Himachal Pradesh continues to be dire, with ongoing calls for more effective rehabilitation strategies.
